Please join us in celebrating and supporting mothers in our community with this baby bottle fundraiser. It’s simple ~ take a bottle, fill it with cash, change or checks, and return it on Father’s Day. Your support will help provide free testing, guidance, education and material support for mothers who are most in need. Return it even if they are not completely filled so that they can be used again to bless even more mothers and babies! Thanks for your support!

Summer Lunches

May 13th, 2017 by WebPastor

We’ll be collecting some child-friendly food items to help provide a Summer Lunch bag to help relieve some of the pressure some families face during the summer while the kids are home from school.

Here’s a list of items they need help with:
Spaghetti O’s
Mac n Cheese
Vegetable Beef Soup
Chicken or Tuna
Tomato Soup
Chicken Noodle Soup
Juice Boxes
Cereal Bowls
Ramen Noodles

They will be picked up by May 25th so we need to be bringing them between now and then. We’ll have some boxes to drop of the food items in. Thanks for helping!

You’ve thought it too!

April 30th, 2017 by WebPastor

If you’re anything like me, there may be a few things you read in the Bible that, at least at first glance, are… difficult. Especially the “words in red.”

That’s what we’re looking at in this current series. We’d love to have you join us as we dive into some of the “Things I Wish Jesus Never Said.” You can join us at 9 or 10:30 this Sunday… arrive a few minutes early to grab some coffee and a treat! There are programs for kids birth through 7th grade at each service. Can’t wait to see you here!

God is good…

So having thought about our recent Easter services, I had a few things I wanted to share with you. This was our tenth Easter as a church family and since people have been asking, I thought I’d answer the questions and share that yes, we had a record attendance over the 3 services… 658 people! That number is important, for the same reason our attendance numbers are always important: each number represents a person who God made and loves and who Jesus died for! The most amazing number of the day was that over the 3 services, 27 people made a profession of faith in Jesus! 27!! I could hear Heaven rejoicing! I can’t tell you how happy and excited that makes me! Praise the Lord!!

That brings me to what I said leading up to Easter: lives are changed when you give, serve, and invite. Our people really stepped up to the plate and took that challenge of “all hands on deck” seriously! So many people worshiped in one service and served in another (or 2!). I watched people serve in so many different areas; each one important, regardless of whether it was out in front or behind the scenes. From the bottom of my heart: thank you for making Jesus look good!! You made a difference that will change lives and families in our community and echo throughout eternity! God is good (I can hear you responding!)

Easter at Journey North

April 6th, 2017 by WebPastor

(Click the picture above to see a bigger view of it)

Easter at Journey North is a big deal! We celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and all that means. We expect God to do great things! I’d like to take a brief moment and give you some info. We’ll do it from 2 different perspectives.

First, if you’re considering joining us for Easter and you’ve never been here, I’d like to let you know what to expect. We have a special page called “What to expect” and all of the information except the service times is accurate. Regular times are 9 & 10:30. For Easter, on April 16, we are changing the times up a bit in order to add a service. Three services, all the same, to choose from… 8:00am, 9:30am, or 11:00am.

If you arrive a couple minutes early, it’ll give you time to drop kids off and grab a cup of coffee and a treat. There should be plenty of helpful people to answer any questions you may have. We’re thrilled you’ve considered dropping by!

Second perspective is for those who call Journey North home. We are so excited by all the life-change we’re seeing around here! Great things are happening! Remember, lives are changed when you give, serve, and invite! Here are a few of the things I’d like to remind you of:

If possible, please park in back so we can save the best spots out front for guests. Pine Technical and Community College has given us permission to park in their lot that day. There’s a section of the lot you can park in and you can feel free to enter through our back door or walk around to the Foyer door. There will be parking attendants to assist you.

Next, we’d like to ask as many of you as can to consider attending the 8:00 service. We are guessing that most new guests will probably choose the 9:30 or the 11:00 service. Again, this is to save space for our guests. Of course if the person you’ve invited wants to attend a particular service, that’s the one you should be at!

And remember… the goal is to attend one service and serve in another (or two). If you want to know how you can serve, you can email us at info@journeynorthchurch.com, call us at 320-629-6111 (leave a message if we’re not there) or fill out a communication card and drop it in the box at the welcome desk. Someone will get back to you. Never forget: lives are changed when you give, serve and invite!

Why?

Why series

We’re beginning a new series we’re calling, “Why?”

We’re going to spend a few weeks looking at answers to some pretty big questions. I’m fairly certain you’ve asked a number of these questions as well as hearing others ask them. Come join us at 9 or 10:30 for some answers. (Easter times will be different… we’ll keep you posted)

For Such A Time As This

2017 Ladies Retreat logo clear_450x281

I have to say, if you haven’t been on this side of things it’s hard to imagine… there has been SO much work, creativity, blood, sweat, tears, hours, scavenging, calling, texting, laughing, crying, late nights, early mornings (well… you get the idea) that has gone into the 2017 Ladies Retreat. It all comes together Friday as the ladies head off to have a great time connecting with God and with each other. Keep them in your prayers. And for those who are leaving guys and/or families at home… pray for those guys and families! We’re sure those guys are up to the task and will be at one of the services on Sunday! And regardless of what the kids may be wearing… we won’t judge!

It’s Time

March 11th, 2017 by WebPastor

You’re about to lose an hour of your life… kind of. Remember that tonight (actually early Sunday morning), we set our clocks ahead one hour. Spring forward. So if I’m figuring this correctly, we all lose an hour. So at 2:00am the clock gets changed to 3:00am. So if you forget to do this and get up at 8 it will really be 9. If you show up for the 9:00am service, it will really be 10:00am. For some it could actually be the first time you were early (or at least not late) for church… as long as you pretend you meant to show up for the 10:30am service. If you don’t set your clock ahead and you show up for the 10:30am service according to your watch, it will actually be 11:30am and you will have missed part 1 of our new series It’s Time.

You don’t want that happening, so before you go to bed tonight, set your clocks ahead 1 hour and join us at 9 or 10:30am Sunday morning. We’ll have the coffee on to compensate for the possibility of an hour less sleep.
