Along with the great celebration planned for this Sunday including great worship, a short challenge and a baptism, we are also planning a potluck. Please bring a dish to share. We are looking forward to a wonderful time together. See you all Sunday at 9:30 at the Pine City Beach.

Due to the high waters, not the high waters pictured above, but the high waters in the river, the youth group’s riverfront party scheduled for Friday will be postponed. Keep your eyes open for further details.

The youth group is heading to Wild Mountain for a day of fun in the sun this Wednesday. We will meet at the church office at 9:00 and return by 6:00. The cost for the day is $18.00 plus money for concessions. Bring a bag lunch, swim suit and towel. In case of bad weather we will postpone our day to Friday. Hope to see you there!

Our first CLASS 101 is finished. What an incredible group of people to give up such a beautiful Sunday afternoon to spend 4 hours inside… the word that comes to mind is a word that was used a number of times during the class… commitment. And remember, commitment always builds character.

I Love Our Church!

We are going to do something that we have never done before. I know… shocking, right? On Labor Day weekend we are going to have our first campout at the church property. We are so excited. It will start sometime on Saturday, Sept. 4 and close after our outdoor service on Sun. Sept. 5. If you are interested in joining us please sign up. Because we have never done this before, we are looking to find out what interest we have in this event before we start putting some definite plans into place. Every year, during our Summer Spectacular, the kids focus on a mission. This year we focused on the amazing organization “Feed My Starving Children”. For every $1.15 that the kids brought in, that’s a highly nutritious meal for 6 starving kids. The kids took the challenge of helping other kids very seriously and during the week they brought in $887. That’s an AMAZING 4627 meals!!

Well, it happened again. The first year that we were in the parade we gave away around 1000 bottles of water and ran out during the parade. Not so much fun running out. So last year we got about 1500 bottles to give away… and ran out again. This year we had somewhere around 2400 bottles of cold water… and ran out again. It’s no fun seeing so many thirsty people and not having any water to give them. Next year will be different… we are already working on a plan!

Thanks so much to all who walked and rode along with us. Thanks to those who loaned vehicles, wagons, golf carts, tools, etc. Thanks to those who made props for the float… it looked great again! Thanks to Julie for heading it up. We really do want to help people find True North like the float said, and sometimes giving a cup (or bottle) of cold water in Jesus’ Name can be what starts the ball rolling.

Quick reminder… the youth group will be meeting this Thursday at the Adams family home at 5:00 for pizza and The Truth Project. It’s a great study. Hope to see you there.

Wednesday, Aug. 11 the youth group will meet at the church office at 10:00am for a trip to the Mall of America. Bring money for lunch and wear your walking shoes. We will return by 4:00pm. Should be a great time. See you then.

Just want to pass on a huge “Thank You” to all our JNC youth and parents that helped staff the Dairy Assoc. Ice Cream stand during the week of the county fair. You all did a great job and we couldn’t have done it without you.
