“There is more happiness in giving than in receiving” Acts 20.35b (NJB)

I’ve heard of one person stapling the cards to $10 bills and giving a couple of them to the attendants at the Holiday station to be given to customers who needed it. It was a very touching thing. And very creative!

I was sitting in McD’s drive thru and a reminder ‘came’ to me that I had my Random Act of Kindness cards-wouldn’t that be cool if I did one of those “pay for the person behind me” thing. So when I got to the window, I told the girl what I wanted to do-she asked me which order they had (I had no idea!) So she had to go ask someone…well minutes later I finally paid for the person’s order (which ended up only being a $1 cone!) I told her to give them the card. This all occurred yesterday and then today at Cub, someone in the line ahead of me gave me their 10 cents off of gas! How cool is that! Go God! :)

We got to the drive thru lane at McDonalds at the same time as another car. We let that car go ahead of us and to our surprise, they paid for our meal and gave us a Random Act of Kindness card!

There was a man out of his car at a gas station asking people around the station and across the street at a fast food place for money to pay for his gas. I had no cash on me. When I finished my lunch I noticed he was still asking people and I remembered I had a pre-paid card for that particular gas station with about $12 left on it. I gave it to the man along with a Random Act of Kindness card.

I was in line at WalMart and the person in front of me had his check come up “Ask for ID”… and he had no ID on him. As he was about to leave, God tapped me on the shoulder… I said I would pay for his stuff along with mine. I did so and gave him a Random Act of Kindness card. He and the two cashiers were a little speechless.

While waiting in the drive thru line at McDonalds, I felt a burden for the person in the vehicle behind me. When it came my turn to pay I asked how much the bill was for the person behind me. The cashier seemed very excited and asked where I got the card. I paid for both of us and gave her a card to give to the person behind me. Glad I obeyed!

Kindness…. Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves. ~James Matthew Barrie

About 4 weeks ago my family and I were presented with a notice to foreclose on our home. We had no food really to speak of in the house and my faith was being tested.

I was starting to feel like no matter how hard we try or how many people we had taken in to our home to help when they were in a bad way it just didn’t seem like anyone around us cared.

But the next night a local business man in town (a friend of my boyfriend) came over to see if we were ok, we talked for a few hours and I could tell that this man had faith in God he had been through some trying times in his life and never lost sight of his love for God.

Two nights later this mans wife pulled up to our home with a car load of groceries to feed my family. I had never met this kind woman before and was so touched by her concern for our family.

That weekend we visited your Church and I was truly touched by the welcoming we felt that day. We will be back.

So thank You Journey North Church and thank you Les and Linda for bringing us back to our faith that all things through Jesus will work out.
