It’s time for the December Route 34! Perhaps for snack we will have: spaghetti, sugared maple syrup, sprinkles, mini-marshmallows, chocolate syrup, M&M’s, and Frosted Chocolate Fudge Pop-Tarts. What do you think?
For all Third and Fourth Graders! Thursday, Dec 22, in the JNC South Room from 6-7:30. Wear something festive!
This past Sunday (Nov 13) we concluded part 5 in our series by using a visual reminder of a spiritual truth. We took our cards (with the names of people we needed to forgive so that we could release the hurt) and we nailed them to the cross. I heard many say how powerful it was for them and how much it helped!
“He canceled the debt, which listed all the rules we failed to follow. He took away that record with its rules and nailed it to the cross.” Colossians 2:14 (NCV)
“Forgive us our sins, just as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us.” Matthew 6:12 (NCV)
This past Sunday, as part of our series on the Lord’s Prayer, I gave you an assignment. It was a Personal Spiritual Assessment and we even gave you a tool to help facilitate it. Here’s a link to the Personal Spiritual Assessment Tool.
With the election over and all I’m seeing and reading… NOW would be a good time for everyone to do this! Even if you’ve done it before recently! Remember… step 6 was Repeat regularly!
It’s a great thing to do as we look at the next part of the Lord’s Prayer this Sunday. See you there! 9 or 10:30.
So last Sunday (Oct 23) we took a break from our Connecting with God series and as the last presidential debate finished and we headed into the home stretch before Election Day (November 8th) we heard from Andy Stanley on Avoiding Election Infection. A number of people asked whether that video was available online. It is and I’m posting it here so you can share it or watch it with someone or whatever. Some good truth here!
This Sunday (Oct 30) we’re back to our series… you don’t want to miss it!
The stripers came today… before I continue let me say we’ve had the discussion that when texting back and forth about the striping in the parking lot, we have all been extremely careful with spelling. Nobody wanted to be on record texting the pastor about stripping in the parking lot! Anyhow… although we often encourage coloring outside the lines, we do not encourage parking outside the lines 🙂
We gained quite a few parking spaces by using the suggestions of the professional striper (I was careful with the spelling there… see how that could be greatly misinterpreted). Thanks again to all who are being so generous with what God has given them… time, talents, and treasure! You’re storing up treasure in Heaven and you will reap what you sow. You have Jesus’ word on that!
The milling of the parking lot was scheduled for Monday. The pavers took advantage of the beautiful day and started paving right after the milling! Striping will be coming soon! Thanks to all who are demonstrating a generous heart!

A group from Overdrive (the 8-12 grade student ministry of JNC) headed out to Camp Shamineau for Fall Fling. Pray for them as they travel and spend the weekend together. Pray for safety… that God would move mightily… and that students would respond to God with a “Yes”!! They’ll be traveling home on Sunday and arrive sometime mid or late afternoon.
