Good Friday

April 18th, 2014 by WebPastor

(Click the picture above to see a bigger view of it)

Today is Good Friday, the day we set aside to remember the Great Exchange.

“He (Jesus) was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised to life to make us right with God.” Romans 4:25 (NLT)

“We are made right in God’s sight when we trust in Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, no matter who we are or what we have done.” Romans 3:22 (NLT)

This day is “good” because what happened on this day 2000 years ago proved how much God loves us! If you want to see how the story ends and find some hope, join us Sunday at 9 or 10:30.

Easter at JNC

April 16th, 2014 by WebPastor

So you’re thinking about checking out Journey North Church for Easter. Great! Whether you’re coming back to church or trying it for the first time, I thought I’d let you know what to expect. So here are some typical questions and answers:

When Are The Services?

We have 2 services on Sunday, 9 and 10:30am. About an hour long.

How Do I Get There?

We’re located at 840 Main Street South in Pine City just behind the A&W. Our main entrance is a log and stone entrance just below our sign. Here’s a map link.

Where Do I Park?

Right out front. We have helpful attendants outside to assist you. We hold the best spots up front for guests and those with limited mobility.

What Should I Wear?

Clothes. Seriously. Wear clothes. You would most likely feel very awkward if you didn’t. I think it’s safe to say everyone will be wearing clothes. Other than that… we’re pretty casual around here. I (Pastor Tim) wear jeans. The guy in the picture above is dressed pretty typically.

What Are The Services Like?

We start with uplifting, upbeat worship music. Feel free to join in or listen. Then we do our best to open up God’s Word in an understandable, relevant, practical way that will actually bring some help and hope. No offering is taken so don’t worry about feeling any pressure. We have a box for members and regular attenders to drop off their tithes and offerings and we also have online giving.

What About My Kids?

We love kids at Journey North Church! When you first come in you go down the hall on the right to our kids area. We have GREAT programs for kids birth through 6th Grade during both services. There will be amazing, helpful workers there to answer any questions and assist you. Your kids will love it!

Seriously, Is The Coffee Really Free?

Not only is it free… it’s good! Grab a cup and a treat before you mingle or head over to find a seat.

Did We Miss Anything?

So… if you have any other questions, feel free to snoop around this site. Also feel free to drop us a line with your question. Staff emails are all listed at the bottom of the page. You can also leave us a message on the phone and we’ll do our best to get back to you in a timely manner. There’s also a couple links on the right sidebar you can check out. I hope to see you Sunday!

456 Retreat cancelled due to snow

April 4th, 2014 by WebPastor

snow

Due to the snow and road conditions we will be canceling the 456 retreat to Shamineau. MNDOT lists most of the roads to Shamineau in difficult driving condition. Snow and blowing snow is expected to continue through early afternoon. We realize that many of the students were looking forward to this weekend; however, the 456 leaders take our responsibility for the safety of the kids very seriously and feel this was the best decision. We also wanted to give parents as much advance notice as possible. We will be working to schedule a make-up event for the kids in the near future. Hopefully when it is sunny and warm!!

2014 Ladies Retreat from WebPastor on Vimeo.

We showed the video slideshow from the Ladies Retreat this morning and had many great comments. We said we’d post it online, so here it is as promised. The ladies had a great time, as you can see from the pictures. Make sure you don’t miss the next one… or any of the other events that come up from time to time.

Here’s the video slideshow of the 2014 Men’s Retreat we showed today in case you missed it. It looks like they had an amazing time. Thanks for the pictures Dean.

Also thought I’d let you know that the audio for today’s message is up as well on the Sermons page at iloveourchurch.com or on iTunes. Although I’m feeling a little insecure about it…

Appropriate, don’t you think?

Julie sent me this picture. In light of my rental Harley story on Sunday, it’s pretty appropriate, don’t you think!? Please don’t take it too seriously or try to delve too deeply into this. Not making fun or light of serious matters, but just saying what helped me so much on this particular occasion.

Insecure?

March 20th, 2014 by WebPastor

We’re continuing this Sunday in our series on Creating a Positive ID by looking at facing our insecurities. As I said this past Sunday, this is coming from some very personal areas for me and I believe it is going to be a great help to many of us. We’re going to be looking at the sources of and solutions for insecurity. You don’t want to miss this! It has the potential to be a game changer! I’ll see you Sunday.

First Day of Spring… we’ll see ;-)

March 20th, 2014 by WebPastor

As you may have noticed, I updated the picture at the top of our site to reflect that it is the first day of Spring. All I can say is, “We shall see…”

Or as the saying goes… “fool me once…” Well, you get the idea! Regardless, Happy first day of Spring!
