Let’s show them we can do it!

March 14th, 2015 by WebPastor

So last weekend, we had a bunch of guys gone on a Men’s Retreat at Shamineau. This weekend we have over 70 ladies gone on the Ladies Retreat. That means a number of things. A lot of people are filling in tomorrow in their absence. We’re very grateful for that! It also means that there could possibly be a bunch of seats vacant tomorrow. But there doesn’t have to be. Make sure you show up at 9 or 10:30. Let’s all be there for part 2 of our Journey Toward Easter.

And for some of us it means making sure the house is picked up :-)
(it wouldn’t be fair to come home to a mess after being gone all weekend)

Waiting and progress

March 11th, 2015 by WebPastor

There’s been a lot of work as well as a lot of waiting involved in the renovation of the laundromat. This morning, an amazing crew worked hard to put in the cement floor and now they’re just waiting for it to harden enough to get to work on the finishing of the floor. A huge shout out and thank you to all the amazing workers and volunteers involved in all aspects of the project!

Jet lag…

March 7th, 2015 by WebPastor

text

You’re about to lose an hour of your life… kind of. Remember that tonight (actually early Sunday morning), we set our clocks ahead one hour. Spring forward. So if I’m figuring this correctly, we all lose an hour. So at 2:00am the clock gets changed to 3:00am. So if you forget to do this and get up at 8 it will really be 9. If you show up for the 9:00am service, it will really be 10:00am. For some it could actually be the first time you were early (or at least not late) for church… as long as you pretend you meant to show up for the 10:30am service. If you don’t set your clock ahead and you show up for the 10:30am service according to your watch, it will actually be 11:30am and you will have missed part 1 of our new series Journey Toward Easter.

You don’t want that happening, so before you go to bed tonight, set your clocks ahead 1 hour and join us at 9 or 10:30am Sunday morning. We’ll have the coffee on to compensate for the possibility of an hour less sleep.

Annual Meeting

February 13th, 2015 by WebPastor

text

I love our Annual Meetings! That’s something that, for most of my life, I never thought I’d say! But Annual Meetings at Journey North Church are great! Along with being brief, they are uplifting and informative and a good reminder of who Journey North Church is and where we’re headed. Anyone can attend, but only members can vote. This year it will be on Sunday, February 22 after the 2nd service. Check it out!

Monday update…

February 9th, 2015 by WebPastor

We had another great weekend of services. I’ve been hearing a lot of stories of how the current series “From This Day Forward” is striking chords with people, whether married, single, looking, not looking, struggling, or whatever. There were also many comments on the video I played. If you missed it, here it is:

There are 3 more weeks in this current series, so plan on being here!

We had a great group at our CLASS 101 Sunday. If you missed it, keep watching… there’ll be another one coming up. (And possibly a CLASS 201 as well.) If you’ve taken the CLASS and not made the commitment yet, be sure and get your testimony in and get the ball rolling! We’re better together!

text I’ve also heard great reports from many who are reading through the New Testament with us. Keep it up! God’s Word is powerful and we’d love to have you doing this along with us. We’re also putting the current week’s reading in the bulletin. That was a great suggestion that we implemented. If you’re current, you can see you’re already at or near the end of Matthew and moving on to Mark. You’re making great progress! Keep it up and remember to pray before and after for God’s Spirit to open things up!

Whatever group you may be in

January 31st, 2015 by WebPastor

It doesn’t matter what group or category you may be in… married, single, single and looking, single and not looking… (as long as it’s not married and looking… that would be bad)… wherever you find yourself on this spectrum, the new series we’re starting this Sunday is for YOU! For many of you, this is going to be life-changing! I believe it will get us all thinking and focused. Or refocused if that’s what’s needed. So regardless of your situation, come join us for this 5 week series starting THIS Sunday at 9 or 10:30.
